PREFACE

After having reflected on what I believe God has shown me about the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for fifty years, and having read many interpretations of prophecy that have proven false, I feel impelled to share what I have been shown.

Much of the speculation I have encountered, which people have propagated as truth, has not undergone the necessary rigors of biblical hermeneutics. Many speculators have merely come up with an idea, identified a couple of connective associations within the Bible and events happening in the world, then preached, lectured, and published in books and film what they believe.

While I admit that I have acted on what I believe I have been shown by God Himself, I have also felt constrained to apply Scripture to Scripture in order to interpret what the prophecies within the Bible mean. Unlike many, instead of taking a couple of ideas and extrapolating from them what they appear to mean for the days to come, the approach taken in this exposition is that the Scriptures bear witness to Jesus. Therefore, if we are to understand the truth of prophecy, we must start with His work on Earth.

By beginning with Jesus’ ministry and using corroborating evidence from external sources, and working backward rather than forward to determine the accuracy of Daniel’s prophecy, we can establish a sound basis upon which to begin to understand his prophecies. Additionally, I have been given guidance by the Holy Spirit on how to interpret the prophecies so that they incorporate historical events. Moreover, three key prophecies from the book of Daniel (chapters 2, 7, and 8) are concurrent and will be fulfilled in the appearance of the Antichrist. The historical validity of these prophecies is clearly mapped out in the pages of this book

Interpreting the Scriptures and making the claims presented in this book are not matters I take lightly. It is only because of Scripture interpreting Scripture, which can be verified historically and currently, that I have the confidence to write this book for others to understand what God is doing today.

Due to the iconoclastic nature of this work, Scriptures are quoted verbatim rather than referenced only. This way, the reader can see that what is being stated is actually what is written in the Bible, and not merely an interpretation.

There is a degree of repetition that may seem unnecessary to some, but this is done to help the reader understand what is clearly being stated. What has been revealed to me is that using Scripture to interpret Scripture leads us to focus on Lord Jesus Christ, allowing us to begin developing the mind of Christ. The general belief within Christendom is that nobody can be perfect in anything or actually receive a perfect gift from God. Yet the Bible tells us otherwise, if you want to know the truth. Romans 8:8-9 informs us that if we are truly Christians, we possess the Spirit of Christ, and our very spirits are righteous. Hebrews 12:23 speaks of our spirits being made perfect. James 1:17 tells us that every perfect gift comes from God. If we are in Christ and being taught by the Spirit of Christ within, according to 1 Corinthians 2:16, we have the mind of Christ. When we read the Bible, we learn that though we were once dead in our sins, we are now alive in Christ, having our spirits made perfect. More importantly, Lord Jesus Christ is coming back for a Church that He has made perfect (Ephesians 5:27), not sinners saved by grace, but rather sinners justified by faith (Romans 5:1) and walking in accordance with God’s righteousness (Romans 6:17). All this is because we have recognized that we have repented from our dead works—that is, we have stopped violating what is expressed in the Ten Commandments—and are expressing faith toward God (Hebrews 6:1-2).

The problem with referencing Scriptures, as above, is that it does not have the same impact as quoting them in full. Moreover, a person may refer to a different translation than what the author is referencing, which might read slightly differently. This happens not because Scripture is incorrect, but because the meaning of words can change over time (e.g., “study” once meant “diligent”). The verse that says “Study to show thyself approved unto God” in the King James Version (2 Timothy 2:15) does not mean “make the effort to acquire knowledge by reading, observation, and research in order to be approved of God.” Instead, it means “Be diligent to present yourself to God as one approved.” If we are unsure what it means to present ourselves to God, we read in Job 1:6, “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them” (King James Version). What this means for you and me is that Jesus said, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the middle of them” (Matthew 18:20).

It is quite possible that reading this preface could be challenging. One thing we can all be sure of is that if we are not glorifying Lord Jesus, then we are entertaining the accuser, who also has access to the presence of God. Not that we ought to be fearful of him. Nevertheless, it is important to be mindful that if our minds are not directed toward our Heavenly Father through our Lord Jesus Christ, we are liable to fall into a snare. Fortunately, we have been given a new heart; therefore, we no longer possess the heart described in Jeremiah 17:9. Unfortunately, too many people believe the lie that God is unable to change them, and they continually cry out in their prayers that they have a wicked and deceitful heart. Thank God for Lord Jesus Christ; this need not be the case.

This book is written because the truth is what sets us free from ignorance. Moreover, it is hoped that each person who reads this will honestly evaluate what is stated and be willing to align their heart with what God requires. For Lord Jesus is not coming back for people who are struggling in their sin; He is coming back for those who are faithfully waiting for His return and are excited that they are no longer bound by sin, but set free to worship Him. The parable about the ten virgins instructs us to be ready at all times (Matthew 25:13; 24:44), for we do not know the hour. However, we can know the seasons, for it is expected of us to interpret the signs of the times.

Jesus said, “You know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but you can’t discern the signs of the times!” (Matthew 16:3).

Those who are looking to Heaven, who are spiritual and contemplating the true realities of life, ought to be capable of making right judgments regarding the plan and purpose of God. This includes understanding the prophetic word. If the people to whom Jesus was speaking had been meditating on the written word, particularly Daniel, they would have realized that the days when a Rock from Heaven was heading to Earth were upon them. The seventy-week prophecy (Daniel 9:24-25) indicated that what was described when interpreting Nebuchadnezzar’s dream pointed to this. Then Jesus speaks of the sign of Jonah being the only sign that that generation was going to have (Matthew 16:4).

The sign of Jonah, being three days and three nights (72 hours) in the belly of a fish, indicates that Jesus was going to spend the same amount of time in the heart of the Earth. Only those spiritually attuned to hear what the Spirit was saying would know that what happened to Jonah was a reference to the Son of Man bringing salvation to mankind. This was three days and three nights, not two nights and one day, as most people are taught and believe.

Attempting to work out the plan and purpose for our lives requires us to understand the prophetic word. The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the prophetic word that we need to comprehend. The message of this book is that the Word of God is trustworthy and true. This is borne out by prophecy. As the Apostle Peter declared:

“We have the more sure word of prophecy; and you do well that you heed it as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts, knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of private interpretation” (2 Peter 1:19-20).

Yes, I was shown back in 1975 from where the Antichrist would arise. I was also shown a number of various matters in the same dream pertaining to the Second Advent. However, if I had not been able to find these in the Scriptures, then this would be a matter of private interpretation. Since they are not, this gives me much confidence in knowing that what the Lord has shown me is the truth. Fifty years later, I am making this known, plus laying out the signs of the times for all to investigate, using Scripture to interpret Scripture.

Anyone finding this too tedious to wade through might consider reading the overview published in Unlocking Jacob’s Trouble: Understanding the End Times.

Blessed indeed are we who have an ear to hear the message of salvation and an eye to see the hope to which we are called.

Happy Riches
