Understanding Jacob's Trouble: A Guide To The End Of The Age, An Introduction To The Summarized Version.

After reflecting on what I believe God revealed to me about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ back in 1975, and having witnessed numerous interpretations of prophecy that have proven false, I now feel compelled to share my insights.

Much of the speculation I have encountered, which people present as truth, lacks the necessary rigor of biblical hermeneutics. Many interpreters have simply formulated ideas based on a few biblical connections, projecting their beliefs onto current events without thorough examination.

While I acknowledge that I have acted on what I believe God has shown me, I have also felt a strong obligation to apply Scripture to Scripture in order to interpret biblical prophecies accurately. What I have not done is take a few ideas and extrapolate them to predict future events,  a fact that is not as evident in this abridged compilation. Nevertheless, since the Scriptures bear witness to Jesus, to truly understand the truth of prophecy, since He is the cornerstone of all that is true, we must begin with His work on Earth, which was the apex of the fullness of time (Galatians 4:4).

By starting with Jesus’ ministry and using corroborating evidence from external sources, we can work backward to assess the accuracy of Daniel’s prophecies. This approach establishes a solid foundation for understanding these prophecies. Additionally, I have received guidance from the Holy Spirit on how to interpret these prophecies in light of historical events. Notably, three particular key prophecies from the book of Daniel are concurrent and not references to the same subsequent kingdoms as most commentators generally interpret them. Fulfillment will occur with the appearance of the Antichrist. The historical validity of these prophecies is clearly outlined in the more comprehensive work Jacob’s Trouble (second edition). This abridgment aims to make the larger text more accessible.

Interpreting the Scriptures and making the claims presented in this book is a serious endeavor. It is only through the lens of Scripture interpreting Scripture, verified both historically and in contemporary contexts, that I feel confident in sharing these insights.

Throughout history, people have speculated about the timing of Jesus Christ's return. While predictions have varied widely, the central truth remains unchanged: He will return, as affirmed repeatedly in Scripture.

“Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” —Luke 21:27

This book begins with that confidence and seeks to explore the deeper patterns, overlooked truths, and prophetic frameworks surrounding the Lord’s Second Coming. This is not an attempt to predict a date but rather to highlight what Scripture actually says and what generations have overlooked due to assumptions and insufficient study.

We begin with a challenge: many popular interpretations of prophecy are based on assumptions. Beliefs in a secret, imminent rapture, a seven-year tribulation, or interpretations of Daniel's prophecies that conflate all visions with the same empires often rely more on tradition than on careful biblical study, which is critical for understanding God’s plan for us.

For example, Paul writes: “But you, brothers, aren’t in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.” —1 Thessalonians 5:4. This implies that we should be aware of the season. Jesus Himself indicated that, like recognizing the budding of a fig tree, we would know when the end is near (Matthew 24:32–33). Daniel was informed that from the time the “continual burnt offering” is removed and the “abomination of desolation” is set up, there would be 1,290 days—and blessed is the one who waits for the 1,335th day (Daniel 12:11–12). Few pay attention to those final 45 days, and even fewer ask what they signify. This book does.

We will also clarify the misunderstanding surrounding Jacob’s Trouble. It is not merely a seven-year tribulation period at the end of history; Jacob’s biblical ordeal was much longer and unfolded in a deeply personal, redemptive context—just as end-time troubles will for God’s people.

Additionally, we will revisit the seven Feasts of Israel. The first four (Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Pentecost) have already been fulfilled in Christ. But what about Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles? Do they not also hold prophetic significance for the Church? Their meanings are often overlooked, yet they provide vital clues.

Within these pages, you will find a structured exploration of:

The visions in Daniel: the image, the four beasts, and the goat and ram.

Prophetic patterns and timelines, including the 70 weeks of Daniel.

Historical events (such as the World Wars, the rebirth of Israel, and the climate agenda) that intersect with biblical prophecy.

The roles of major players—spiritual and geopolitical—in the end-time drama, including Islam, global finance, and the modern state of Israel.

The anticipated restoration of Israel—not for their sake, but for the sake of God’s name (Ezekiel 36:22–23).

Above all, this abridgment of Jacob’s Trouble invites readers to approach the Scriptures anew, without assumptions and with open hearts. It does not seek to satisfy idle curiosity but aims to awaken readiness. The signs are before us.  The timeline is converging. And while some matters remain hidden in God’s providence, others shine plainly for those with eyes to see.

“This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.”—Matthew 24:14

Let the reader understand. Let the seeker prepare. Let the Church awaken.

THE RETURN OF THE KING
